Meet the Minister

Robin AllisonHello… My name is Robin Allison and it really is great to welcome you to the website of Elderslie Kirk. I’ve been Parish Minister here since the June of 2005 having served previous charges in both Renfrewshire and Fife.

First of all let me say that it is a genuine and real privilege to be minister of this busy congregation.

So what do I do? Well, my role and responsibilities within Elderslie Kirk are varied…

At the heart of my own week is, of course, leading our weekly act of Sunday Worship. To me there is no greater privilege than having that opportunity to share something of the gospel message with a group of worshippers whom I have come to know and admire. We reflect upon a bible passage – yes, but also on the world in which we live. That, after all, is where our faith must be worked out. You'll find out more about worship at Elderslie Kirk under the "Worship" tab

During the weekdays, however, my time is occupied in a variety of other responsibilities.

Some of those will include pastoral support to church members… but it could equally be a visit to the local Primary School where I am chaplain.

Of course, I am also available to help folk in the Elderslie area at the high and low points of their lives – whether in the baptism of a baby (or adult!)… a wedding ceremony or, more sadly, when a loved one passes away.

There is never any financial charge for any service that I offer as Minister of Elderslie Kirk.

So is there is anything you feel I can help with? You will find out more about things we do and services we offer under the "About the Church" and "Worship" tabs on this web page.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me through the “contact us” section on this website.

And, most importantly, please – if you are in the area – do come along to Elderslie Kirk. A warm welcome awaits.

Kindest Regards

Robin Allison (Rev), Minister at Elderslie Kirk
